The Kennett Square 'First Friday Arts Stroll' in August is the date of our annual murder mystery. This is straightforward, improvisational street theater in which the audience is invited to solve the mystery and identify the culprit (It's just like playing "Clue"). Our last mystery was the "Mystery of the Lenape Pearl". Our next mystery ("The Secret of the Amanitas") will be held on Friday, August 1st, 2008.

At 6.45pm, a police siren sounds to mark the beginning of the game. A crowd gathers near the Genesis Building to see and hear a visiting detective or FBI agent plead for help. The suspects are identified and participants are given criminal investigation check lists. the suspects are told not to leave town and are available for questioning in each of the stores around town. At 8.45pm, the suspects and the players gather at the scene of the crime for the denouement. The Kennett Square Merchants have donated special "Murder Mystery T-Shirts as prizes for  the first 20 correct solutions to the mystery! (And every player get the special KATS Murder Mystery Pencil to complete the game sheet.
